Supporting Sables

Sables Mission

To further the understanding of our outdoor heritage, including the positive role of hunting, through the creating and support of wildlife and conservation educational programs that are consistent with the educational mission and purposes of SCI and SCI Foundation.

There are several ways you can support the work of Sables and helping us fulfill our mission:

Volunteer support is crucial to the success of Sables and is important for the future preservation of conservation education and hunting. Hunters are among the most passionate conservationists and are the driving force behind funding many conservation efforts worldwide.  Make a commitment to volunteer today and help continue the legacy of Sables!

You can volunteer on the national level by joining the Sables Governing Board and Steering Committee or by becoming a member of one of our national committees.

Sables volunteer recruitment for the Sables Governing Board and Steering Committee is January thru May.

Sables Committees at a Glance

  • Membership & Representatives Committee
  • Convention Committee
  • Dream Hunt Committee
  • Governance Committee
  • Elections Committee

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities with a little less commitment, then consider volunteering at the SCI Annual Convention. Volunteering during Convention is a great way to meet likeminded women that share the same core values about hunting and conservation.

If you are a Sables member and you are interested in volunteering on a Sables committee or during the Annual SCI Convention, please contact Katie Robinson at KRobinson@SCIFirstForHunters.org for more information.

Since 2000, SCI Foundation has provided more than $80 million to promote science-based conservation through wildlife research, capacity building in governments, youth and teacher education, and humanitarian programs that show the importance of the hunting community in society around the world. Growth of SCI Foundation has continued to gain momentum through charitable donations from SCI members and direct grants from local chapters and the SCI organization. Throughout the world, SCI’s approximately 50,000 members and 190 chapters contribute time, talent, and financial support to local, national, and international projects.
