In July of 2018, Team Floyd (John W. Floyd, Mary Karin Miller, Kevin Anderson and Karin Anderson) was escorted to the Klein-Aub Primary School in Klein-Aub, Namibia by Mare’ van der Mere of African Twilight Safaris. The team was soon met by Mr. Tities, the assistant principal/4th grade teacher who welcomed them to the school and thanked them for their support. The Blue Bags were delivered to Mr. Tities and the items which included clothing, school supplies, dental items, and sporting goods, were unloaded.

About 30 3rd grade students and their teacher came out to be part of the ceremony and welcome the visitors and express their gratitude for the gifts.  After a tour of the school and watching the children playing at recess, Team Floyd was on its way.  “What a wonderful experience to be able to contribute and be part of the Bell Family Blue Bag Program,” commented John W. Floyd.

Thanks to the generous donations of the Kalispel Tribe Natural Resources Department, Dr. Wayne Lemley, and Sean West of Captured Expressions Taxidermy Team Floyd was able to deliver much-needed supplies to the school including dental health supplies and clothing items. Prior to delivering the Blue Bag, additional items were purchased locally in Namibia to augment the gift, which also contributed to the local economy, doubling its impact.

SCI Foundation wishes to thank Team Floyd for “Paying it Forward” and showing their generosity and support of this important program, providing just one more example of hunters giving back.
