The 46th Annual SCI Convention will kick off with our 4th Annual SCI Foundation Day! On Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 both the 6thAnnual SCI Foundation Sporting Clays Shoot presented by Krieghoff International and the Beretta & SCI Foundation Conservation Leadership Gala will be taking place just ahead of the official opening of the 2018 SCI Convention. At 8:30 AM on Tuesday the SCI Foundation Sporting Clays Shoot will begin at the Clark County Shooting Complex just 16 miles north of the Las Vegas Convention Center. That same day at 5:45 PM, the Beretta & SCI Foundation Conservation Leadership Award Gala will begin. Each event will benefit conservation by helping SCI Foundation continue to support our ongoing projects and fund future projects going forward.
The 6th SCI Foundation Sporting Clays Shoot is presented by Krieghoff International. All who donate $100 to SCIF will receive a chance to win a 12-gauge Krieghoff shotgun. 4-person teams will compete for a chance to be named the, ‘Best Shooter at Convention’ while utilizing hearing protection donated by Walker Game Ear and firing ammunition donated by Hornady. Professional hunters, sponsors, industry insiders, patrons, SCI members and staff, and many others will compete while supporting SCI Foundation’s ability to engage in conservation efforts worldwide.
The Beretta & SCI Foundation Conservation Leadership Award Gala takes place in the MGM Grand Ballroom in the evening. The Beretta Conservation Leadership Award is the most prestigious award of its kind. Presented by Beretta and SCI Foundation, this award honors a lifetime of commitment to conservation, wildlife and outdoor education, volunteer service, and philanthropy. This award is open to any hunter-conservationist in the world and is meant to be, “An Event Honoring a True Conservation Hero.” As Ryan Muety, the Vice President of Sale and Marketing at Beretta USA has stated, “Beretta, one of the oldest companies in the world, understands the importance for preservation and protection through a focus on wildlife conservation. SCI Foundation Day is one of the greatest events on our calendar. The events of the day allow the hunter-conservationist community to be directly responsible for our conservation by supporting our work worldwide. To date, SCIF has provided $60 million to promote science-based conservation through wildlife research, youth and teacher education, and humanitarian programs that all prove how critical it is to maintain hunting as a conservation tool.
