SCIF Veterans Breakfast Honors Our Nations Veterans

In continued efforts to honor and support our nation’s veterans, the annual Safari Club International Foundation Veteran’s breakfast was well attended and was a resounding success. Giving back to those who gave so much, the SCIF Veterans Committee showed their appreciation and gratitude by ensuring this event, the attendees and the message received the attention they deserve .

Taking place during the SCI Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, the Veterans breakfast sponsored by Trijicon, completed its steadfast mission and served every attending veteran for free, while raising money for SCIF Veterans programs. Mark Moore, Veterans Committee Chair, facilitated the event. Many stood up and volunteered their time to share their talents, stories and pride during this dedicated event. The Nashville duo BoomTown Saints opened the events up with their rendition of the National Anthem, while the colors were presented by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Color Guard. SCIF President Brian Welker gave a heartwarming yet blood pumping speech on Veterans, what the event means, and why we should look out for one another. Dan Alder was the guest speaker who talked about the important mission for which our Veterans and their families go through so much.

The Veterans Committee also recognized some key personnel, giving out a few awards throughout the evening. There were a few chapters who were recognized for sponsoring activities for Veterans and their families: Music City Chapter, Gateway Chapter, Georgia Chapter and San Antonio Chapters. The Music City Chapter was recognized also, with the Veterans Eagle award for going above and beyond. *If you would like your Chapter to be recognized, be sure to get your packet to Armando Gutierrez at agutierrez@safariclub.org. This includes the application, details of veteran projects or donations of $1000 or more in support of veteran projects by your chapter in 2025.

The Combat Veteran of the Year Award, sponsored by Union Hill Hunting, was awarded to Kevin Peters for going above and beyond the call of duty during his active service. He was awarded a 3-day, 2-night stay for 1 hunter and 1 non-hunter for an axis deer in September 2025 at Union Hill Ranch.

This combined effort, all around the country, showcases the appreciation SCIF and its Chapters have for our veterans, their dedication and selfless service to this great Country.
