Recognition highlights a shared commitment to educating future wildlife professionals and advancing hunting-based conservation
Safari Club International Foundation (SCIF) was honored by Delta Waterfowl with its Partners in Conservation Award during the Champions of Delta luncheon on July 26 at Delta’s Duck Hunters Expo.
SCI Foundation Board President Steve Skold and his wife, Sue Skold, accepted the award on behalf of SCIF, representing the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to conservation education, hunter recruitment, and the future of sustainable wildlife management.
The award recognizes SCIF’s support of Delta Waterfowl’s University Hunting Program, which introduces college students in wildlife management and natural resources to waterfowl hunting and the important role hunters play in conservation. Delta also honored SCIF’s Laird Hamberlin, Brook Minx, and Steve Skold for their leadership and commitment to conservation.
SCIF and Delta Waterfowl share a commitment to conservation education, hunter recruitment, retention, and reactivation. Through this partnership, students gain firsthand experience with hunter safety, mentored waterfowl hunts, game care, and the connection between hunting, habitat conservation, and the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.
