In New Mexico’s dry, rugged landscape, access to water can make all the difference for wildlife. When a wildlife water guzzler on BLM public land near Tularosa stopped functioning, SCI Foundation joined partners to help restore this important resource.

Completed in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, with support from the SCI New Mexico and West Texas Chapters, the project is already making an impact. Elk, black bear, mountain lion, ringtail and javelina have all been documented using the restored site.

Watch The Lifeline, a new film from SCI Foundation, to see the project come to life and the power of partnership in conservation.
