African Wildlife Consultative Forum (AWCF)
The African Wildlife Consultative Forum (AWCF) has been the SCI Foundation’s key initiative in Africa since 2001, serving as an annual platform for addressing conservation challenges and developing continent-wide wildlife management strategies.
The 23rd AWCF took place in September 2025, in Livingstone, Zambia marking a pivotal moment for conservation, community, and collaboration across the continent.
Key themes of AWCF include the need for regulated wildlife trade, science-based management, community empowerment, and addressing human-wildlife conflict.
Over its 23 years, the AWCF has become the premier event for sustainable wildlife conservation in Africa. SCI Foundation continues to support these efforts, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving wildlife conservation goals.
