SCI Foundation is partnering with the Wildlife Management Office in the Kanto Region to support research that provides the data needed for effective, science-based bear management.

Researchers are using non-invasive hair snares to collect DNA samples from black bears, helping estimate population size and better understand bear distribution and movement patterns. The information gathered will support future conservation and management decisions across the region.
