The SCIF Breakfast Honoring Veterans is made possible through Trijicon’s generous sponsorship and the dedication of the Veterans Committee. All SCI members are welcome to attend the breakfast and veterans eat for free. Non-veteran ticket price is $40. The breakfast is held in conjunction with the SCI Convention. The breakfast is scheduled to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Level 2, on Friday, February 2nd, doors open at 7:00 am.
The Veterans Committee is a group of dedicated SCI volunteers who devote their time and expertise to helping honor and support veterans. The committee holds conference calls and meetings throughout the year to plan the breakfast, and they work with long time donors who support the Veterans Program to donate items for auction during the breakfast. The funds raised are earmarked exclusively for the Veterans Program to honor those who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. A cornerstone of this vital program is to provide disabled veterans with assistance in getting outdoors and enjoying recreation, comradery and often a bountiful harvest of fresh game and fish.
To increase the reach of their fundraising efforts, the committee developed a wounded veteran hunt to be auctioned during the breakfast program this year. The trophy Colorado elk hunt was donated by Monte Matheson, Trophy Mountain Ranch, and the committee has designed the sale of the hunt to be a sponsorship for a combat veteran. SCI chapters received a nomination announcement to submit details of a worthy veteran to go on the hunt. Cody Scriver was chosen by the committee as this year’s award recipient. The sponsor – winning bidder will be paying to send Cody, a nine-year Marine veteran who has participated in over 100 combat missions in Afghanistan, on the trophy Colorado elk hunt. The winning bidder, may accompany Cody as a guest. Money from this auction hunt will be earmarked to pay for Cody Scriver’s hunting expenses and, depending on the amount raised, will be put toward paying Cody’s meat processing, travel and other incidental hunting expenses. The sponsor will be responsible for their own hunting, travel and incidentals separately.
Please join the committee in honoring veterans at this special event. Back by popular demand, singing sensation, Irlene Mandrell, once part of the “Mandrell Sisters,” will perform at the breakfast and stay at the conclusion to sign autographs and pose for pictures with attendees. This is an exclusive opportunity for those who attend the breakfast.
Seating is limited and last year’s breakfast tickets went quick. Don’t wait until it’s too late – get your tickets early! Because of Trijicon’s sponsorship, veterans eat free. Tickets are available online at www.ShowSCI.org through Convention Registration or by clicking below.
